THE
SELSOR-SKAGGS FAMILY MYSTERY PHOTOS
◊ WEDDING
PARTY ◊
f
all the Selsor-Skaggs
mystery photographs, this one may be the most
mysterious of all. Perhaps it's due to the sheer number of
unknown people. But also, why would a formal portrait be
taken on such an obvious angle? Robert points out that this
picture is not a discarded proof - it's mounted elegantly in
a gray heather matte. Who is the mysterious lady that Capi
found, seated and hiding on the left behind the column - why would
somebody who is part of a wedding party not want to be in the formal
picture? And, we ask, exactly what bound matter is our bride
holding in her hands? Based on some photographs taken decades
later, we wonder if the groom could be John B. Williams (the
husband of our great-grandaunt Alice Arsulia Brown Williams),
possibly
shown here with his first wife Lena? But even if that is the
case, who are the rest of party? The mystery of love - and
the
passage
of time - has left only genealogical mysteries for us.
